Description

This hand-carved soapstone frog sits upright and alert, with long folded legs, raised eyes, and a friendly expression that gives the figure plenty of personality. Each available frog may have its own bright color and painted or incised pattern, so one design will be selected for you from the current assortment. At approximately four inches tall, it makes a cheerful addition to a shelf, desk, plant display, garden-themed room, or collection of animal carvings. Its substantial stone form can also serve as a decorative paperweight.

Soapstone is a smooth metamorphic rock composed mainly of talc. In metaphysical traditions, it is commonly associated with calm, grounding, emotional balance, flexibility during change, and clear or creative thinking. Frog imagery adds symbolism of transformation, renewal, adaptability, cleansing, and abundance, making this carving a meaningful reminder of growth through changing seasons. Each piece is made from locally quarried Kisii soapstone by a Kenyan fair-trade artisan cooperative whose work supports living wages, children's schooling, and an orphanage.
