This hand-carved soapstone owl has a tall, stylized shape and an unmistakably expressive face, giving it the playful “owl with attitude” personality described by its artisan source. Bright colors, oversized round eyes, dotted borders, and individually painted patterns make each available owl different. One color and design will be selected for you from the current assortment. Its smooth, substantial stone form is easy to display on a desk, shelf, bookcase, or bird-themed collection and can also serve as a decorative paperweight.

Soapstone is a talc-rich metamorphic rock traditionally associated in metaphysical practice with calm, grounding, emotional balance, adaptability during change, and clear or creative thinking. Owl imagery adds long-standing symbolism of wisdom, observation, intuition, and seeing beyond surface appearances. Together, these associations make the carving a thoughtful accent for study, reflection, or a new chapter. Each owl is made from locally quarried Kisii soapstone by a Kenyan fair-trade artisan cooperative whose work supports living wages, children's schooling, and an orphanage.
